Ancillary certificates
Where an individual would like to become a ride-sourcing driver, but does not hold a taxi or hire vehicle licence or passenger transport accreditation, they must obtain a current ride-sourcing certificate, which requires assessment as a fit and proper person to operate a Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV). Further, ride-sourcing vehicles must have undergone a vehicle inspection within the last 12 months. For further information as to Ancillary certification see link. A key requirement of Ancillary certification requires compliance with an Exemption Notice issued by the Transport Commission, which is necessary for all drivers for the lawful operation of a taxi or hire vehicle licence or passenger transport accreditation.
See link for further Exemption requirements.
