Why are ridesharing fares increasing?
The NSW Government has made changes to the way Rideshare CTP premiums are being collected. From 1 April 2018, this new scheme will collect an additional $0.10 per kilometer for journeys in metro regions and $0.06 per kilometer for journeys in country regions.
This additional fee is being implemented by the NSW Government to fund the new CTP scheme that is focused on early support and recovery and which applies to injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident on or after 1 December 2017.
How much is the increase in ridesharing fares?
Passengers will notice an additional $0.10 per km or $0.06 per km on top of the current fare for every completed ridesharing trip with GoCatch in NSW.
Do drivers need to do anything?
GoCatch will be collecting this fee from passengers and paid directly to the NSW Government. Drivers do not have to do anything and no other aspects of their fare will be affected. Simply continue providing great customer service when collecting and delivering passengers.
