Who is GoCatch?

GoCatch is Australia’s favourite taxi booking app. From its inception in 2011, its core purpose has been to use innovation and technology to transform the taxi industry and dramatically improve the passenger and driver experience.


Since then, it has gained massive popularity and operates nationwide. Today, GoCatch is a privately held company with headquarters in Sydney’s Central Business District.


Our Story

GoCatch was founded in 2011 in Sydney Australia by Andrew and Ned, a couple of young entrepreneurs. They recognised how frustrated Australians were with the service and reliability of the taxi industry. The tech-savvy pair knew there must be a better way of catching taxis, and set out to find a innovative solution to transform this out-dated system.


Since the idea for GoCatch was hatched in 2010, it has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions, such as a $205,000 government grant from New South Wales Department of Trade and Investment and a $50,000 prize at Tech 23, Australia's leading technology showcase event.

Ned Moorfield

CEO & Co-Founder

Ned co-founded GoCatch in 2011 because he wanted to use innovative technology to shake up a stuffy industry. Ned graduated in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Adelaide. He then went on to Canada, Germany, England and Ireland, where he worked in advanced manufacturing and investment banking before returning to Australia in 2006.
